177......was the total number of hugs I gave/received at BABSCon this last weekend. Oh glorious day! (Well, three days, really.)Pictured: Left: statoose (me); right: xjuggernaughtx. This fine, loudly-dressed gentleman with me is my friend, xjuggernaughtx, who I met through the Friendship is Magic fanfiction community over a year ago, and got to meet in real life for the first time at the con in California.Giving out free hugs was by far the best part of the convention, for me. I was pleasantly surprised at the different kinds of hugs I got – and I mean that in all seriousness! There was fun, big hugs from bros; emotional, happy hugs to people who needed them; quiet, affectionate hugs from shy people; and even five hugs fro ma family passing by who weren't even at the hotel for the convention. That last one was particularly cool. Nobody can deny a free hug wh
Sheeeeeepy!Hey, got a moment and want to see something cute? Check out this character I commissioned over the week! —By RacoonKun.She's a sheep-girl named Woolly! Conceived in my mind and brought to life by the wonderful RacoonKun. I am super happy with how she turned out. When it comes to commissions, the end result will never be exactly what one had in mind, but I tell you, this is the spitting imagine of what I imagined. If you like it, go on over to the original deviation page and drop a comment and favorite, and I totally encourage everyone to check out the rest of RacoonKun's sweet gallery. My favorites of his are the humanized pony drawings specific to certain episodes from season 4: <

It All Makes Sense NowI'm actually rather excited to see how Equestria Girls pans out. Looks like fun, once you get past the whole purple-skinned humans thing!
Well, That Escalated QuicklyAh yes, "April Fools".Welp, to the bullshit-proof shelter once more! Who wants french toast? 'Cause I'm makin' french toast. We can cuddle, too, if ya like.
I have a ponysa now. Ponysas are cool.Ever wondered what I'd look like were I a pony? Of course you have!Ta-daaaa! Look at his scarf! Who needs socks or sweaters? S'all about scarves!Someday, I'll post a photograph of myself, and you'll see the resemblance. No cutie mark for now, though... Thanks to Quanno3 for vectoring him. Much love, man. In other news, you know what sucks? Stories ending. I've just recently finished what is now one of my all-time favorite fanfics (The Final Quest of Star Swirl the Bearded, a story with the bitterest and sweetest of bittersweet endings), and I'm steadily making my way through the final book in the Harry Potter series, so my feels are somewhat shaky right now. You guys ever have that? Took me two whole days to fully recover form the ending of Order of the Phoenix.
Oh hey, look, another finale-related journal! As if you didn't already have too many of those to completely ignore, like I do read patiently.Just wanted to throw my two cents in. What's different here is that the faces on the pennies that make up those two cents are happy ones!I really enjoyed the finale. True, it was a bit rushed, but I feel they did everything they could within the 21-minute boundary. My reactions in chronological order were:ERMAHGERD A TWI-SONG! YES!ERMAHGERD TWI TAP DANCING!ERMAHGERD COOL PLOTLINE!ERMAHGERD ANOTHER EPIC TWI-SONG! YES!ERMAHGERD FRIENDSHIP IS AWESOME!ERMAHGERD ANOTHER AWESOME SONG! YEHEHES!ERMAHGERD A CELESTIA SONG! YEEEEEEEEEEESSSS!ERMAHGERD TWILIGHT IS BEST PRINCESS!ERMAHGERD I CAN'T WAIT FOR SEASON 4!Seriously, though, there was a lot of awesome in this episode. Seeing little Twily growing up – seeing Celestia actually bow down to her – fills me with joy. I actually cried more than once during the songs. That's a sign of an awes

Do you/a friend Need Exposure for Adoptables? I've recently found people who have made these really nice adoptables, at least artistically I think they're really well done. And then it pains me to see when very few people bid on them, and this amazing creation can only sell for like, $5 or something. Now I've never tried adoptables, and I'm not sure I completely understand how they work, but what I do know is that it seems artists who do them are really at the mercy of how much exposure they get. In that way, it's much like everything else; if you don't have the numbers, really great work goes unnoticed and sells for a handful of jelly beans. So I'm going to do a journal that features Adoptables.Do you have, or know someone who is selling *nice quality* adoptables but really needs exposure on them? Leave a thumbnail or link in this journal, and maybe I'll choose them for my feature. I can't showcase them all, but I'd certainly like to try and get a few out there. The world gets harder for artists all the time

Group Switch Around Meme Results! The Results!Apologies for the ridiculously late posting, but here are the results of our first group Switch Around Meme collaboration! We had 50+participants, 150+ individual artworks, and a whole bunch of fantastic final pieces, so make sure to take a look. Thank you to all the participants, all our helper line-art and coloring artists, as well as the admins who helped me manage this event. This collaboration event was met with a great deal of enthusiasm, so we will likely have more (better-organized) collab events in the future. These compilations were arbitrarily split up into sets of ten, just so that there wouldn't be one giant file:1. TheShadowEmpress http://sta.sh/01owvv9rpkn72. SimplySilent http://sta.sh/0iyqtgojy503. Writing On The GoArtist's ToolboxWhat I really like about projecteducate is that the articles are not lectures taught in person. Because of this, I can sit in a car and type up my article while waiting on my sister to get done with her art class. Of course, I still have to put the article into Stash and work on coding when I get back into a wifi zone, but 75% of the work is done! Writing when you're out and about really helps you plow through your list of things to write so today I'll teach you some tips and tricks to make writing on the go easy and more enjoyable!Times to WriteThe CommuteI'm assuming most everybody reading this goes to school or work away from home which means you'll have to commute to work or school. If you drive yourself to work or school, skip over this section for it will have nothing valuable for you. If, however, you ride in a cab or bus or whatever and do not get sick while reading in a moving vehicle, this is for you. The comm
Silver Soldering ToolsArtist's ToolboxSilver soldering is one of many different types of soldering, and is a commonly used technique in jewelry-making. There are many different tools that can be used for silver soldering - I will go over the basic tools that I use in my soldering endeavors, but there are certainly a lot more than I will be able to cover in this article!SolderThe first and most obvious "tool" in silver soldering is the solder itself. Silver solder is just that - it is silver alloys that are specifically created to melt at certain temperatures in order to be perfect for varying soldering jobs. The silver solder that I use comes in sheets & is cut into small chips in order to be used. There are different 'levels,' if you will, of solder - most commonly called Hard, Medium, Easy (and I sometimes use Extra Easy). The difference between the 'levels' is the temperature at which they each melt. Hard solder melts at the hottest temperature, and Extra Easy at th
